Let’s say your combined fortune ranks in about 2 billion Euros. You have several businesses that are doing ok. You are 59 years old and made all this fortune in Romania, a second world country.
What would you do? Slow down? Enjoy life? Retire? I asked this question on my primary blog (in Romanian) and 90% responded they will want 2 more billions.
This is not a rich man problem. Thousands and millions of young people work too much for money they spend working some more.
– What did you do with this week check?
– I bought a news suit to wear to work!
– Great!
There is a time to work and a time to enjoy life. If we can master both, we would be some happy mammals.
Not quite sure what I’d do with such amount of money, but probably I’ll give some to people with ideas but no money to make a start a business. Not really sure where I can find them but…
It will sound funny, but I think I would retire and stay all the day in my country side little mansion and play on PS3 or something like that. Meaning relaxing would be my first choice.
jogging? traveling? https://www.boo.ro/2009/11/30/sabatic/
d’oh, I’ve forgot that. Traveling, maybe, but not alone and not only to visit things. Sure, it’s a great idea traveling if you have something to do, like attending some events or something like that, but at 59 I’m not really sure I’ll want to move my ass from the couch.
But in this hypothetical situation, I would pay for a trip with you 🙂
think about this: living for 3/6 months in various cities of the world. it’s nice to see this every now and then.
I’d travel. (Whistler mountain bike park would be the first objective)
I have a big house, some fancy cars and some people pretending to be my friends, with whom i get drunk once a week.
It doesn’t take too long to get bored with the routine of a rich man.
OK, you’ve kinda changed my opinion. still, it’s hard to see now what I’m going to do at that age with so much money. In fact, I’m sure that I’m not going to buy a thing I want today.
