In Romania, public drinking is prohibited. And in the center of the cities is strictly enforced. Is tolerated in the back of the streets, in poor neighborhoods. On football games, all the shops near the stadium stop selling alcohol.
It’s a shock for a Romanian to see so many people just having a drink in Berlin. Old women enjoying a glass of wine as they walk around Potsdamer Platz and youngsters having a case of beer in the parks. It’s weird.
I guess Berliners and Germans have learned to control their drinking. They probably don’t have fights at clubs after too many beers. They do not beat up fans of the opposite team at games. Romanians have not.
