ArsT Technica has a long article about how YouTube stumbles at peak hour and it’s all the cable companies’ fault. Somehow true, the video consumption has grown in the past years and cable companies have a hard time providing the pipe necessary for that. This happens also with telecom companies and smartphone usage.

But the problem lies also elsewhere. The Megapixel Race has a bastard child: HD video everywhere. iPhone does 1080p. Every compact camera does Full HD. Every Mirrorless camera does 1080p. And on and on and on…

But the truth is that is not real HD. It’s just a resized VGA video. And others agree. That small sensor cannot produce real HD video.
