I am thinking about becoming a consultant.
You know, someone who tells people what they should do. You get up, you analyze something for somebody, you give them an input and then you go home. You don’t care what they do with what you said. You are just a consultant. You get paid. You don’t care.
Good idea. How about when you tell your opinion and they ignore it? How could you live with this?
I smell an “April fool”, as far as I know you (just from your posts – no matter the language), you will not accept a situation like the one mentioned.
Anyhow, everybody dreams to become a consultant. Or not? 🙂
Wish it was that easy as one may think.. but it’s not.
A first prerequisite would be a sufficiently high IQ (which it seems most people I have been working with seem to lack!) + a wide view and good understanding of your field of activity.
You would make a great job in engaging communities, but is this what you want? 😀
p.s. why am I blocked on Twitter? 🙂
ionut, there are times when you have to go with it. bills to pay. kids to raise. probably in 3-5 years things will change with us. and we will calm down.
val, you are blocked beceause u were annoying.
so, Vali, do you believe this is a good reason for a 45 yo “senior consultant” wannabe to ask for outrageously high amounts although he’s a total idiot?
and provided that he’s got kids to raise one would actually consider giving him $500/md until he realizes he’s dealing with an idiot?
What’s the 30yo view over this issue? be a good consultant or go home and get the money regardless the performance?
again, the issue of the consultant is simple: get the money. sadly, that includes blackmailing (I described here how it happens on blogs https://www.zoso.ro/pe-cadavre-monser-pe-cadavre/ and other shady practices.
the company;s fault is that it gives in to blackmail easy. or that it preffers to pay, because it is cheaper for orange to give a 300€ phone to a journalist than do damage control after a bad article.
