Nice piece in NYTimes about how Facebook does not share revenue with people putting up (come create, some steal it from Youtube) engaging content on their platform. IT attracts views, it does not make any money.
I like it how influencers love this platform, because it has much more people on it than YouTube, but fail to see how much more evil it is. If Youtube is acting up sometimes and disables monetization on some random clips, what would Facebook do?
In my opinion Facebook could easily give 1% per lead to publishers, bloggers, etc. This way they are creating their own affiliate platform, it’s a win-win-win scenario for the 3 parties involved and the long term “investment” could benefit from the hype. But I am just a poor peasent, what do I know about affiliate marketing.
