Being from a 2nd world country with a history of credit card and shipping fraud, it’s hard sometimes go buy stuff online.
Case and point: i want this backpack, which in Romania costs 60€. I added to cart, selected the address and proceeded to checkout. There I found it cannot be shipped to Romania. Ok, no problem. As it’s not an urgent matter, i let it go. But now Amazon shows me 12 variations of this backpack on the front page and targets me via email with it.
With it, an item it cannot ship to me.
Ran into the same inconvenience recently – I am planning to purchase a small running backpack, but the one I liked wasn’t sold directly by Amazon. Unfortunately, most of the sellers in Marketplace only deliver to a few countries, and our beloved Romania usually isn’t among them. Guess I’ll just have to order a Salomon backpack instead.
P.S. To fix the retargeting issue: at the bottom of the homepage, right above footer, there’s a link for Browsing History (“Browserverlauf anzeigen oder ändern”) – it will take you to a page with all products you viewed, you can remove the backpack from there and it will stop showing you related items.
P.P.S. the message you get when you want to buy something from the Cards Against Humanity online store is adorable: “Sorry, foreign person, but our store is not yet available in your inferior country.” – at least they’re being upfront 🙂
good tip with the product removal. thanx.
